Oh boy!!

It seems like our little guy has the intention to come a little sooner than we were expecting him. Last Thursday was our moving day, claude had to go to work and I was by myself dealing with movers. And although claude didn't want me to touch any boxes, I had to. I mean when you don't have a place to walk, you have to. So I did a lot of unpacking, reshelving and organizing. Then on Friday, I started having contractions.  I had my weekly check and asked for an exam. And sure enough,  I was dilated 1 cm and his head was really low...My midwife said jokingly, see you soon after my appointment.

And I panicked. I felt like I had a very important exam that I didn't have the time to get prepared for.  The apartment was still a mess, I was not psychologically or technically prepared for birth, blueberry didn't have socks nor hats nor a car seat (he still doesn't have a car seat by the way).

So Claude and I spent all Sat shopping for our needs. On Sunday,  my contractions calmed down a little but last night they restarted. Now I started packing up for the hospital just in case we have to go there in the following days.

I'm just trying to make peace with the idea that even though we're not ready, we live in an apartment of boxes, that his room has many many things that are missing (e.g., curtain, lamp, chest of drawers), it's OK. And trying to breath in the middle of hammer sounds, all the dust,  and pieces of unfinished ikea furniture.

Please keep the good thoughts coming...
